Biography
I’m Joby Grant, a passionate 3rd-year animation student at Sheridan College, specializing in 2D and 3D animation, character design, and storytelling. My artistic journey began at Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts, where I refined my creative skills, and was further shaped by years of private art lessons throughout my early life.
In addition to animation, I’m also a musician and perform in a band, bringing a strong sense of rhythm and creativity to both my visual and audio work. With skills in audio recording and editing, I have a deeper appreciation for how sound and music enhance storytelling—an invaluable asset when crafting engaging animations or building immersive worlds.
This portfolio showcases my latest work, from concept sketches to fully realized animations. I’m eager to collaborate, learn, and bring fresh ideas to the animation industry.
Life Drawings and Character Design
This portfolio highlights a collection of sketches and life drawings, focusing on movement, form, and expression. Observational drawing is a key part of capturing energy and realism, whether through quick gesture studies or more refined renderings. Each sketch is a study in anatomy, weight, and storytelling, helping to build a stronger artistic foundation. Alongside these studies, you’ll also find character design elements that bring personality and style to life. Take a look at some recent work!
